The cure for natural hair boredom: Fancy updo protective Styling

by - March 31, 2016

Lately, it seems like everyone I know is in love with my hair except me! I get tons of compliments for my hair, and yet...

I'm just bored and annoyed with my hair!

I alternate between the messy bun and the wild twist out which usually drive me crazy in about 35 minutes after I leave my house. I live in South Florida for Pete sake, our humidity runs to about 80 percent on a good day.

And curly hair and humidity are not friends! Which leave me at a cross road, I don't know what to do with it and bored of my usual messy bun.

The little voice in my head it screaming cut it! Cut it ALL! I'm not completely sold out yet.

In the mean time, I opted for a fancy updo, it is kinda working for me at the moment so far I'm really liking it.

It was super easy three step process. I wish I had taken pictures of each step or shoot video the whole thing but it sort of just happened.

I'm going to tell you what I did, hopefully, it will make sense.

I parted my hair in three sections, 2 equal ones in the back and a small square in the front.

I then put the two ones in the back in pigtails then turn the pigtails into jumbo twists. I pull the top one to cover the bottom one and pull the bottom one to cover the top one and attached with bobby pins.

I swoop the hair in the front into some sort of faux bang and bobby pin it to the back to cover the part.

Did that make sense? I hope so!

I'm going to rock this hairdo until I can figure out something else to do with it that will appease this hair boredom.

Does hair boredom happen to you guys too?

PS: If you guys are interested in a tutorial for this updo, let me know in the comments, I will try to recreate it on camera.
